So looking through The paper i noticed that another celebrity has been roped into getting more money for the big supermarkets .. err ok i mean “to help the countries obesity problem” oh and how to cook a meal for under a fiver. I can understand the latter part completely as not everyone is taught how to cook but is the next thing going to be cookery lessons in store of cause showing us which of their products are best value? How many times can people who have weight issues have an excuse of “I didn’t know”
The issue is that apparently people are not aware of how much crap is in their foods, or how many calories are in there either. Surly most of them can read or have friends who can read. I do not buy into the BMI index as it doesn’t take your body type or lifestyle into account. But surly people know if they eat too many calories they are going to put on weight? Is it just another excuse from some of the people in this country of pure ignorance and laziness? Do we need the government telling us that we need to eat healthy to be healthy? Or am I being a bit harsh? Am i being ignorant in thinking that people have to start taking responsibility for themselves instead of coming up with hundreds of excuses or reasons why they can’t when all it boils down to is that it takes a lot of effort in changing eating habits? If this is the case then why are the government not dishing out free therapy sessions to get people back in control over their lives?
I have a couple of friends who have weight issues and are always complaining of health issues that are related to their weight. The thing is it doesn’t stop them from eating shit; it drives me nuts i will admit. No one told them that you have to watch how many calories you eat and that the amount of calories you need is depending on your life style too, or that drinks should be taken into your calorie counting too. Yet again i feel another excuse. It has been taught in schools since i can remember not to mention being in the media. The answer is simple.. Eat a well balanced diet and exercise. the answer i get back is usually one of “i don’t like the gym” “i can’t stand veg” “i don’t like healthy food” “i don’t have time to cook” “i cannot afford to eat healthy” all bloody excuses as far as i am concerned. If you can find half an hour to sit on your arse and watch TV or go on the computer then you have time to cook. I feel it is another case of plain and simple CBA syndrome.
I have some friends who do not see why they should lose weight which means most of the time i don’t want to hear their constant complaining as they not taking responsibility for their health.
These friends teach me patience and tolerance.
