A couple of weeks ago a friend came round with lots of wood. All taken from a home that had been flood damaged as he is a builder.
We are of course going to be using it for the garden making some raised beds and as the sun was out it was a lovely project for small boy and I. He managed to stay focused for most of the time with a lot of one to one with something’s but never doing things for him, as he will never learn anything that way.
The usual thing at this time of year, which I love, is to work until we runout of light and as sunset hit we had a small amount of time to get things finished
By the time it was dark we had made and installed one raised bed
It had to be said that I love pottering around in the garden with small boy. Not because it takes me less time to do anything ( if anything it takes me so much longer to do anything with small boy) but because I love spending time with him and watching him as learns the skills I learnt from my grandparents. Passing on skills and family tradition is really important for me in general not just on the pagan sides of things and with the amount of love going into the garden this year I can see it being a great growing year for us.
Now all we need is some more nice weather so we can finish off the other three beds and get some seeds and plants into the ground.
