You may of noticed there was no creative challenge 2013 post yesterday, it’s the first day since the start if this where I have not say down and created something and although it feels odd it was for a very good reason. Small boy is back from his fathers. After 11 very long days he finally returned and so the day was spent doing things with him. I never noticed before how like animals we are as yesterday reminded me very much of the re-bonding animals do when one returns to the pack lol
He appears to be going through a growth spurt too, not only is he almost as tall as me right now he is also sleeping over 12 hours. But he can sleep as long as he needs and lets face it is much better than having a tired and grumpy child.
We managed to go out for a walk to sainsburys, I want to get out of the house with him at least once a day as its so easy to get stuck into a rut which before now we had done. Our local sainsburys is going through a revamp and it didn’t even occur to me how he would handle the change … Turns out it got a little too much
To be honest I think we all feel like this at some point when we are shopping and I am more than use to the looks that I get when he lays on the floor or reacts in other ways that some parents would shout at their children for. I developed “it’s not the end of the world” mind set years ago. You really have to choose your battles wisely so he was told if he was going to melt on the floor to melt to the side so he didn’t trip people up. A friend pointed out that he was lay in front of the calms section… My goodness if they work that well I’m going to take them 😊
We are blessed with having to walk through the park to get into town, it makes the journey so much more pleasurable so decided to go and burn off some energy in our awesome play area that we have there. It’s brilliant, lots of people of course complain about it … “Too close to the river, the sand encourages cats to use it and foxes, the swings could hit a child etc etc ” but I find no fault with it at all and small boy thinks its one of the best parks in the world
Then once home he went through a transformation, a hair cut. I’m not sure if you have ever tried to cut a child hair, all kids have trouble sitting still but my goodness me it took me almost an hour and a half!
He loves his new hair, he did feel had because he didn’t want the hair to feel sad so we’ve put it out for the birds.
It does make him look older though, lots of people think he’s about 15 most if the time, Including his father!! But he is growing into a young man, 13 in 4 months and I can start to see the changes as he grows. It seems to be more apparent now he’s not at school and I can but come to the conclusion that its for the best as he can grow at his own rate rather than one forced on him.
